9/21/20: Living Large
It has been a gooood weeeeeeek everyone! Only good weeks out here in Ceres... which I might only have one left as transfer calls are this week... yikes.
Ok so let's start with a miracle. Update on Juan- Juan as in the other Juan that I got to teach with Hermana Curtis. Church is just baaaaaaaarely beginning to open back up again in some areas... and just little tiny 20 people meetings outside... but Juan has been itching to go to church since even before he was baptized and he was so excited to go on Sunday but he was scheduled to work!! So he asked his boss if he could get the day off... and his boss said no... so then Juan prayed for help and that Sunday his boss let him off work early and Juan made it to church!! He attends the YSA ward but he shared that story with me. Below is a picture of him with the elders that serve there.
This week we DROPPED EVERYONE WE ARE TEACHING BECAUSE IT IS TIME TO GIVE CERES A NEW LOOK. We did so prayerfully and got to work tilling the ground again to find. We have realized that we have not been very good at setting or maintaining goals and kinda have been finding, teaching, and using Facebook without much structure. We have been in and put of our area a lot with so many exchanges but it was time to get focused. Soooo we set a very solid plan. We prayed a lot. And got to work to accomplish the goals we set. And BOOM we found 3 new people this week. Presenting a goal to the lord is literally giving him the green light to bless you. So do that. We have a goal to walk 2 miles a day of our area in the morning and find all the member houses in the areas we walk and leave them a little note. Then later in the evening we will call all those members. We also are dedicating more time to contacting through Facebook and Instagram since we have seen so many miracles with that lately!! We are trying to contact 550 people through social media/walking area/through calls and eventually talk about/teach 100 of those people about Christ. Through social media you can WHIP out some crazy fast communication!! We also have some FIRE plans for how to get members on board with Facebook and the missionary work here. We are hoping to HAUL this week... especially as it might be my last.
We got to teach one of our sweet neighbors English and it was so fun! She is 22, just moved here with 2 kids, and LOVES saying the word Awesome. We love her!
We also got to go down and stay the night at our presidents house for MLC (we drove down the night before as we are so far north) and it was so fun to be in Fresno!! Also Mission Leadership Council was fire and in person wooooow! Lots of good changes were made to the mission.
Also our branch mission leader made us eat like 8 tacos... so sorry plants... maybe next week...
