10/5/20: Tengan Confianza

Some goooooood things happened this week. Como siempre.  But wow what a week for the books.

Let's start off with a miracle
So. There is this man named Baltazar that we have been teaching and in one of our lessons he mentioned that he and his family were being kicked out of the room that they were renting because someone offered more money and he asked if we knew anyone that had a room for rent. So we literally prayed and called ONE PERSON from the branch and they actually knew someone!! So we passed the number to Baltazar and he got the room! So them later in the week we helped them back all their stuff into their car and ours and we helped them move. We got to meet his two little kids and his wife, Blanca, and they were soooooo cute but his wife did not like super cold to us...But then afterwards Baltazar was like PLEASE let me take you two out for a lunch and we were like "nooo it's ok, servimos por gratis..." but then 2 days later we found ourselves at Denny's with him and his cute little family eating pancakes. It was super fun. And Blanca actually liked us by the end so it worked out!
Then. We were walking around our area one evening and we met this super nice little man in a wheelchair and his wife was like "you have to come to my house this Saturday. I want you try my Tamales." So we actually went and it was a whole birthday party for one of their daughters and we were living it up talking to EVERYONE. No one spoke English and everyone wanted to know why the hacks these gringitas showed up to this party and spoke spanosh...  Most everyone lived out of our area but we still made some good connection and we got a lot of people's facebooks.
We also went to Hermano Perez's house to watch conference and ate enough to feed a small village... and then we went to Gloria's house and ate enough to feed a small country...  it was a very big weekend in many sense of the word.
We also re-arranged our entire apartment because I was going kinda crazy looking at the same walls (this was the apartment I spent most of quarantine in) and so now I am sleeping in the one room I haven't slept in... the kitchen. Well actually just part of my bed is in the kitchen. But it is a nice change.
Lots of good stuff to come! Keep working hard wherever you are and if you happen to be in Ceres please vote for Juan JP Vazquez for Ceres City Council Chair #4.
