8/10/20: it's harvest season, bois

Ok. You want to know something crazy? We have been in quarantine for almost 6 months

... wooooooah. But we are still busy and working so no worries. Try again next year Satan.
This week we had some awesome lessons one of which with our favorite farm family ... the Perez teens are PROGRESSING, actually the whole family, and it is awesome to see. They live out in the middle of flipping nowhere so going to their home is a road trip but the first time we went it was a huge struggle to get anyone to interact and the parents were not super thrilled. Then the second time the kids started asking questions... and this past lesson we taught the restoration to everyone and it was so cool! We showed up and all the kids were waiting for us and the parents had all the dogs tied up so they wouldn't try and eat us like they normally do when we visit and then the lesson was super cool because we had the parents help teach and we were able to jump from Spanish to English just super flawlessly so everyone could understand and wow. It was actually fun. Like we got these kinda edgy teens laughing. I live for those moments. The gospel opens peoples hearts.
We also found Doris Diaz! Haha so she was the lady on date for baptism and she disappeared and wouldn't answer her phone and we even "passed by" but the trailer was empty buuuuuuut this week we "passed by" with a pamphlet and she was there! And ready to be taught again! Her phone broke and she went to Fresno to help some family out for a while and just lost contact! Blessings.
I also got to go on two exchanges with Hermana Charles and Hermana Carlson! They are trainer and trainee down and Turlock and they are both amazing! I had a super great time learning with and from them! Also Turlock is all on bikes and I thrived. It was so fun. They love super close to downtown so that was fun to bike through! Also I saw a train. I hate trains. But we were crossing some tracks and the lights started flashing and I saw the train coming and I STARTED RIDING SO FAST NOT TODAY TRAIN.
We also had HECKA sucess Facebook finding this week. We found 2 people and they are actually progressing and taking lessons and r e a d i n g the Book of Mormon. We also started working at a community garden we found through Facebook so that was fun!
Good times
This week I learned that I NEED to step it up! We had mission leadership council in small groups all over the mission through zoom and we talked ALOT about complacency. I have never allowed my self to become complacent concerning the work but I have allowed myself recently to become complacent concerning how I feel each day- i find myself becoming frusterated over the same things, the same habits, the same mistakes, and the same failures and I have started to write it off as "well I guess this is who I am right now". I am working to repent and do better and to repent in the moment. It is a long hard process but something I need to learn.
We love Ceres!
Also I am trying to get fit over here and so Hermana Wegesend and I are meal planning and working out hard in the mornings... but then we always end up eating peach cobbler or something at night so that is that. People keep giving us fresh fruit cause it's harvest season so we are like... welp might as well make something DELICIOUS
