5/4/20: a variety of international affairs

Paz y Bendiciones Hermanos y Hermanas,

This week we began...  fAcEbOok FiNdInG oooooh! Very different, honestly feels kinda unproductive... but actually very fun and requires A LOT of creativity which Hermana Heiner and I together have A LOT of!
We created and edited a video with a few other missionaries in the area about Christ and interviewed several members in the Branch and asked them who Christ was to them! It turned out beautiful! It was wonderful and uplifting to film! We also interviewed another lady in our branch, who we had never met in person before, about her story and her testimony of Christ and the church... even though we hadn't met her before we both felt really prompted to reach out and ask if we could film her and share her testimony! It was beautiful!! She is an amazing woman and her story was about when she first joined the church. She could not read very well, did not speak any English, was coming out of a very hard time, but just had this desire to come closer to Christ! And then after a few months of being a member, she was asked to give a talk in church and she was terrified because she couldnt read..  but she decided to anyways and worked hard to put together a talk because she felt that God had confidence in her and so she though she could at least try... And after lots of work and praying a miracle happened, when she spoke in front of the congregation she was able to read perfectly!!
Hearing her story and filming it and editing it with our very limited tools brought me very close to this story and this woman. She had this desire to do the lords will, as scary as it seemed at the time, and the lord carried her through it!! The video comes out soon, our tools in making it were pretty scarce so it is not very professional looking or whatever but wow her testimony just shines through it all!
Along with the videos we are making and working on and testimonies that we are filming we also message A LOT of people a day. From all over the world! Kinda cool!! Facebook finding has allowed us to really expand our sphere of influence and ot has been kinda cool!
We started to talk with this dude in Malaysia and we are going to set up a call with him to teach him how to pray!
I also got to spend some time with my Sister training leader for an exchange, Sister Boonpuak. She is from Thailand and learning English so we got to teach some of her friends from Thailand over messanger... well I guess I watched Sister Boonpuak teach cause I do not and probably never will speak Thai. Kinda cool!!
Also this week we learned that Ceres 3.2 is splitting back up again... because last night I learned that tomorrow I get a new companion who is coming in after being reassigned!! Previously she was serving in Ecuador so time to up my spanish game! Wahoo!! Also we are being doubled into a new area, during quarantine! It will be super fun!!
I am excited for everything to come! I take so much joy in this work! This week was filled with less "work" (by what my previous definition of it was) than any other week in my mission but I saw a change in my heart... and I am learning to love the lords will! I dont know exactly what caused it and i wish it didnt come so late (1/2 way into my mission haha) but it came! I am ready for the next step!
Have a good one!
Hermana Allen
