4/27/20: we only POUND food in this household

Ok hahaha so I am gonna talk about food. Members of the branch really really REALLY like to feed us. The branch has a calander for the weekends and who is supposed to drop off food at our door and a ward member forgot to bring us food yesterday and somehow, somewhere, over technology or in person I know not, it was passed around the brnach that we did not receive a meal last night and We. Got. So. Many. Phone.calls. EVERYONE was trying to bring us food and apologizing and just in panic! We have MORE than enough food here (thanks to our Ward Mission Leader who brought us 27 home made tacos one random evening...) but we have been struggling to get a hold of members to meet them so it was actually great! We met a lot of people! Also... someone brought us, I kind not, and entire pork loin... and just left it outside our apartment...we have no idea what to do with it or where it came from but its sitting in our freezer!

Something else kinda funny this week was my jose started bleeding... like a lot... like for a whole hour it just would not stop... like just pouring put of my nose... and my companion freaked out a little and the mission nurses were not answering the phone and so she called our mission president and I was panicking because she was calling PRESIDENT and so my companion was trying to explain the situation while I was trying to down play it and all we could hear was our president just cackling over the phone. I spent the rest of the evening standing over the sink as my companion handed me paper towels... it was kinda miserable but super funny later!
Ok we got in contact with some AWESOME people this week!! We have been working like crazy to get in contact with people. From leaving little cookies at their door, to notes on their windshield, to calling them in every way shape and form possible... and it is paying off! We had a lesson with one recent convert, Liliana, who has been just absolutely impossible to get in contact with and pretty cold to missionaries even before quarantine but as we were dropping off some cookies at her house she came out and we of course kinda talked with her for a bit (6 feet apart of course) and turns put she just needed a little love. She really appreciated the cookies and agreed to let us call her! It was awesome!
We also got in contact with Gerardo, a 75 year old man who called US!! He was being taught before I got here and Hermana heiner had never met him and he wouldn't answer his phone but turns out he got a new one annnnnnd really wanted to start reading and studying with us again!!
There are lots of little miracles just raining down on this area!! We stay busy everyday and I still wake up excited to see what the day will bring! Ceres is FUUUUN- like couch randomly burning on the side of the road and neighbors singing mariachi karaoke 24/7 kinda fun! Even though we are inside all this excitement just creeps in somehow... it keeps us going! Hope all is well! Paz y bendiciones,
Hermana Allen
