3/23/20: Make a power point about your favorite Book of Mormon story and send it to me
Paz y bendiciones hermanas y hermanos
Yes we are now quarantined... and going one day at a time... but wow what a week. 0-100 real quick.
My trainee, Hermana Vanslyke was sent home basically over night because she has some respiratory health concerns which is a big no no right now here in California and everwhere... so that was kinda hard but she is safe at home in quarantine for 14 days! She will be back after all this is over!
My new temporary companion is Hermana Hilton! Her companion was sent home for the same thing and so we were put together. She is super cute, speaks fluent Spanish, and is over a little hole in the wall called Crows Landing. I am running Los Banos while she runs Crows Landing from the same room haha! It's been wild! There is a super old man named kevin that they are teaching and he calls us NO JOKE 7 times a day. Jut to me sure we are safe. He is a funny little fella. We also have been working with another man from Crows Landing named Javier who plays in a mariachi band and really likes singing to us over the phone. He is awesome, he is changing bands so he can go to church and be baptized!!
48 missionaries were sent home from our mission this week so the missions running a little tight... I could be moved at a drop of the hat or I could be here for another 2 transfers! Ya never know!
We have been working with Marcelino over the phone a lot and we learned that he has been recording us everytime that we pray or read a scripture so he can send it to his family in Honduras! I am working on getting some missionaries over there... it has been a slow process haha but they will get there!!
We started teaching a lady before the quarantine named Guadalupe Caro. She is a sweet little lady who lives totally alone and was referred to us a looooong time ago... but whenever we would call her or try and contact her she would get really angry. So we stopped. But then she called us this week just sobbing and asked us to come over and we did and talked her through some stuff and she wants to learn more and take lessons! She is a cutie, a little crazy, but cute.
I ran 4 miles one morning this week! Super cool.
Well the Lord continues to hasten his work despite everything going on. I am learning to accept and trust on his will. Right now his will is for me to expand the work here and be a little creative in my efforts to find, teach, and preach the truth. I can take this time to elevate the lords trust in me. To show him I can be obedient, and focused on him even in the craziest of situations!! These are some pretty weird times. I hope we can all learn to be a little more selfless as crazy times like these often makes us turn inwards. Find some creative outlets. Read a little more. Clean something that hasn't been cleaned in 5ever. Call someone in your family or friend group you haven't talked to in a long time. Make a PowerPoint slide about your favorite ancient ruin or bird or book of mormom story and send it to me. I dont know. Keeps your minds healthy and active. Let's make the most of this time!!!
Love you all lots!!
Hermana Allen
