03/02/20: What is cur-roh-nuh-vi-rus?

 Ok lets go. This week we saw some pretty sweet miracles both in the english and spanish work which is making the four of us Los Banos gals a very happy and busy group!

Ruben. Is. On. Date. For. This. Weekend. he will stay there. Want to know why??? Because we had a conversation over the phone and he was just super down on himself. He kept saying that he knew he wanted to be baptized and that God wanted him to be baptized but just felt guilty for things in his past and didn't know if he would ever feel worthy to take that step... so that was a hard thing to hear but we sent him a scripture and asked him to pray over some specific questions and left it at that. buuuuut then friday night we set up a time to bike over to his home and try and talk to him in person and just thing after thing kept on getting in our way (so we were like ahhh something good must be about to happen) but we finally made it over there and knocked and Ruben was actually home and he answered the door and wow. You could just see that something had changed. The atonement of Jesus Christ really worked a miracle within the heart of that stubborn little mexican man and you could just see that he had forgiven himself and he just kept saying and telling us that he felt so much more peace and that he had prayed and thought about it a lot and that he was ready. So we whipped out the phone and called the District Leader and gave him the baptismal interview right then and there. And Ruben says he feels confident about this Saturday evening!!! 

Ok also we had a lesson with Yair yesterday as well as our "group missionary" Hermano Phillips and wow Hermano Phillips really knows how to bring fire to a conversation because literally he just went off on Yair at one point and asking him why he wanted to be baptized, if he was going to endure to the end, what it meant to keep the commandments, if he really had a testimony of the book of mormon and I was like uhhhhahhhhhh please dont kill him and all this confidence we have been working to help him build in the gospel but the spirit was like no... he needs this... and Yair came out of that conversation super confident and was like "I want to be baptized sooner"... and i was like this saturday? and he said "yes". So wahoo! Lets go saturday!

We have been making a huge huge HUGE push to gather everyone in the group and start some solid ministering because our recent converts need a lot of help and support and slowly but surely people are joining in! It is kinda awesome to watch!

what else?... oh! I promised this one man that if he came to church he would be able to get a restraining order on his brother! Never in my life did I think I would do anything like that but the spirit guides... he also did not come to church. 

Also we went to Santa Nella again and before we did I prayed that we would find someone waiting for us and we knocked this trailer and the lady there opened it up and said that she had been waiting for us!!! and had dreams about us!! and knew who we were! and that we were from a secret branch of the military...? Turns out that she was not very sane but we gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon!

Heavenly Father really answers all prayers.

Everyone is talking about this virus thing... what is it? Friends keep sending articles about it to us but they are always in Spanish and my medical spanish is not the strongest.
