11/25/19: CHUNKY PEANUT BUTTER

welp this week I discovered the joys of Chunky Peanut Butter. I used to make fun of my dad for eating Peanut Butter by the spoonful but the situations you laugh at tend to become your own... or however that phrase goes... I am just trying to say that I eat a lot of peanut butter now.

Ok ok this week was another solid one for the books!
Vinnie has a set baptismal date now (yessssssss) his parents are not crazy about the idea but Dec 7th is a go! Honestly he teaches us something everytime we meet and lately he has been asking us a lot about missions.... which he could definitely go on one after he is baptized so we have been hyping them up a lot!!
We also have continued teaching Gabriel and that has been really really hard but also super rewarding. We have to lessons outside of his families Motel room which is really hard because there is this little Dos Palos gang that Gabriel is in and members always come up and try and get him to stop listening to us and stuff... and then there are a LOT of drunk homeless people that like to harass us and even more stray dogs but we get through the lessons one bit at a time. We  told Gabriel that everytime we have a lesson we will bring him a "gift" because we are preparing him to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! That caught his attention so instead of trying to run away when we come he gets really excited! Ok also the gospel is just so so cool becasue Gabriel has a lot of trouble reading but when he reads the Book of Mormon he can read and HE UNDERSTANDS!!! He actually gets really excited when we give him things to read now and it is so cuuuuute! We told him that Joseph Smith was only 14 when he had the first vision which was mind blowing to him because he is 14!
Remember that Pastor guy we gave a book of mormon to way way back?? well we have had several follow up appointments since and he WILL NOT READ IT HAHA but everytime we meet he wants to argue about it but he will not read the actual book or listen to us! he just goes off on long long rant/rave things and we can't get a word in so we think we are going to stop teaching him soon... the last lesson we had with him was next to his car parked in the middle of this huge field and when we finally got to his car he was like scream praying (see picture below)... kinda fun
We are working with so so many amazing people right now! I love it! Spanish is coming... really really slowly... but it is coming. I can hold conversations ok and people in the spanish groups kinda like me now because I can talk to them a little more and because they found out i can sing...honestly I am not even that good of a singer but I lead the music for both the 7pm and 11am groups and so they hear me sing and they just really like that i can sing! So we made sometime and we joined the little tiny group choir that meets after church and everyone was just super happy that we came and it was really fun!
Welp those are most of the highlights for now!
Love you all!

There are little just millions of shopping carts lying all over the streets of Los Banos and one ended up on our street and then in our kinda not really backyard area.
The setting of our lesson with our pastor friend!
