10/28/19: Buffet Line
I wish that the title of this email was in reference to a buffet line I was in but it is actually in reference to me. I was the buffet to a line of mosquitos one night when we were tracting around an area with a lot of irrigation and the line must have been pretty long because i have never had so many mosquito bites in my life!!! my legs reacted kinda badly to all the bites and are pretty swollen but we are still walking!
I don't have a lot of time today...but here is the run down
- Gustavo and Noemi- the parents of a family we are teaching- said that they wouldn't be able to attend church this week because that had to clean so yesterday we showed up to their house in service clothes and just started cleaning until Gustavo said he would come to church only if we stopped cleaning, sat down, and ate breakfast with them...they came to church that day and actually loved it!!!! and they also had Tamales for breakfast so that was super good
- A man named Jose Chiquillo agreed to a baptismal date this week because he told us he had read and prayed and LOVED the book of momon. He is a pretty shy guy and told us that he wants the smallest baptismal service possible but we are so excited for him!!! He also just lives alone with his German Sheppard named BigBoy (super cute) and asked us if the dog could be there at the baptism too... we are looking into it
- We met another man named Ruben this week who was taught a few years ago. he was pretty excited to see us and when we came back to his house later in the week we had a conversation about the restoration. He told us-kinda out of the blue- that he knows this church is true and has known it for awhile and he knows he needs to join it because missionaries keep coming to him!! He can't come to church during our regular meeting times because he works everyday into the evening so we got approval, leadership, and support to start up another smaller spanish group sacrament meeting at 7pm so that he can attend! We also have found a bunch of other people that want to attend becasue harvest season is in full swing and people have to work all day everyday!
- we found a house sort of thing in an old warehouse under the address of 505 1/2 and the person living there is interested and we have a return appointment! There is also a lot of cats that live there so i am super excited to go back!
-we went to go see our friends perform in a local cultural celebration and it was so awesome...also the infamous Fiesta Car Insurance mascot bird was there at the festival and I made everyone take a picture with him. I cant miss the opportunity of a lifetime to get a picture with the heart and glue of Los Banos!!!
Love you all!!
